Tomoe is a comma-like swirl symbol. The character 巴 bears the meaning of “to hope” “to expect” or “to be anxious over”. It is a simple, yet meaningful design. The glass is blown, shaped and cooled. The cooling process takes three days in a very low temperature chamber to ensure its durability and strenght. The size of Tomoe is just right, it does not take much effort to whisk up a formy serving of matcha.
