Hand-made by Yasaburo Tanimura, the 25th generation chasen maker who has carried on his family’s 500-year-old tradition. It is made from black bamboo that is dried for two years before being made into this delicate chasen. Shin Kazuho has around 67 tines, enough to whisk up Usucha (thin tea) or knead the creamy Koicha (thick tea).

The black bamboo Chasen is preferred by students of Omotesenke school of tea ceremony.
