DESCRIPTION
Tenryu Okumidori is a matcha from Okumidori cultivar that is grown on the high mountains in the Tenryu region of Shizuoka. Tenryu is also a name of a river that runs throuh Shizuoka, giving life to the region. The tea is grown in a single estate and shaded for 40 days before it is first picked in the spring, the first harvest of the year, which yields the best quality of matcha. Okumidori is very notable in its chlorophyll content which results in emerald green color. Tenryu Okumidori has a toasty roasty aroma, with a medium body. Our single estate matcha tea leaves are picked, stone ground to a very fine size of 5 – 7 microns, and packed in Japan.
