Umi means the ocean. This blue with silver glitters Katakuchi (pouring bowl) is a reminiscent of a clear blue ocean with the sun light glittering on the surface. The glass is blown, shaped and cooled. The cooling process takes three days in a very low temperature chamber to ensure its durability and strenght. The size of Umi is just right, it does not take much effort to whisk up a formy serving of matcha.
